Senator Deeds at the Springfield District Dem's BBQ

 

Senator Deeds in Northern VirginiaSenator Deeds showed his support for Virginia firefighters and Northern Virginia Democratic candidates this past weekend. He spoke at the Virginia Professional Firefighters convention banquet on Friday. On Saturday, Deeds attended the 10th and and 11th Congressional District Conventions, rallied the troops at the Springfield Democrats’ Smoke and Roast, and addressed the party faithful at Prince William County’s Jefferson-Jackson dinner that evening. He ended his busy weekend on Sunday at the Fairfax County Jefferson-Jackson dinner with Congressman David Obey.

On Friday, Senator Deeds thanked firefighters for their continued involvement in the political system at the Virginia Professional Firefighters convention. During his remarks he expressed support for firefighters who hold elected positions and encouraged more firefighters to run for political office.

Senator Deeds in Northern VirginiaOn Saturday, Senator Deeds attended the 10th and 11th Congressional District Conventions to support Democratic candidates. He spoke of his faith in the Democratic candidates and anticipation of Democratic victories on state and national levels at the 11th Congressional District Convention. Senator Deeds also spoke before an enthusiastic gathering at the Springfield Democrats’ smoke and roast. He recounted Democratic victories in recent years: Mark Warner’s election as Governor in 2001 followed by Tim Kaine in 2005, Jim Webb’s victory over George Allen in 2006, and winning control of the Virginian Senate in 2007. The audience burst into applause as Deeds expressed optimism for the Democratic Party’s ability to unite behind its candidates. Later in the day he attended the Prince William County Democratic Committee’s Jefferson-Jackson dinner, where he thanked them for helping Democratic candidates gain control of the Virginia Senate in 2007 and urged them to go to work for Mark Warner this fall.

On Sunday, Senator Deeds ended his long weekend at the sold-out Fairfax County Democratic Committee’s Jefferson-Jackson dinner.
