Postal Workers' Convention and Bobby Scott's Kickoff
Senator Deeds was in Charlottesville last Friday to address the American Postal Workers Union State Convention. He then traveled to Hampton Roads to attend Congressman Robert C. "Bobby" Scott's birthday party and campaign kick-off. In Charlottesville, Deeds thanked the union for helping Democrats take back the Senate in 2007 and urged continued, unified party support for the approaching general elections. He was optimistic about the opportunity to elect Mark Warner into the U.S. Senate, pick up seats in the House of Representatives, and give Virginia's thirteen electoral votes to our Democratic nominee for President.
He also spoke about his vision for a 21st century vision of transportation as well as the need to develop alternative energy sources by investing in our research institutions.
In Hampton Roads, Senator Deeds attended Congressman Robert C. "Bobby" Scott's Campaign kick-off and birthday party on Friday. He wished Congressman Scott a very happy birthday and helped him kick off his campaign to continue doing great work in Congress representing the 3rd Congressional District.
